In 1975 Xavier de La Chapelle decided to bring back fresh life to their family company. His passion drove him to built one of the most beautiful classic cars. This led him to the most iconic classic car of 1930: Bugatti Type 55 Roadster, designed by Jean Bugatti in 1932.

This Bugatti type 55 De La Chappelle is built by Ax & Co in Puurs (Belgium) in 1993. The car is offered with belgian attest of homologation and confirmity. Under the hood we will find a 3500cc Rover engine. An automatic gearbox is installed. Only one car like this one has been built by Ax & Co.

The first de La Chapelle type 55 was presented in 1978 after a development of 3 years. His present found place at the automobile show in Genève under the name “Stimula 55’ as a tribute to their family company. The car received many positive reactions which brought Xavier De La Chapelle to set up a team of engineers and experienced collaborators. They built this model in small series. Approximately 1500 cars haven been sold worldwide. About a 100 De La Chapelle “Bugatti” cars are currently on the road throughout the world, all models included.
